April 15th - Mondello Park

Our first race of 2012 was in Mondello and we had a fine entry of fifteen cars despite losing Eoin Crowley and Joe Smith to illness. A great effort from everybody especially Leo (Bling) Nulty who has headed up the push for clean and tidy cars the results of which was obvious. Plenty of fresh paintwork and clean wheels.

Brian Hearty started 2012 as he finished 2011 with a dominant pole position, Kevin Sheane (driving Eoin Crowley's car as he had thumped his own in practice) was 2nd. Robbie Allen and Sean Hayes made up row 2. Tristan Quinn and Newcomer Tim Swail made up row 3.

Brian Hearty led from the start, Kevin Sheane losing out to to Tristan and Robbie Allen. Tristan was holding a strong 2nd place until he was black flagged for a lose exhaust, this promoted Robbie Allen to 2nd and Kevin to 3rd.

Behind these there was plenty of action from Anton Savage and Dan Polley, both of whom did not do the qualifying session. Anton was doing Savage Sunday and Dan was a late entry they both started from the pit lane. Anton eventually finished 4th but only after he had to battle with the the new "kid" on the block Tim Swail pipping him only a couple of laps from the finish.

Sean Hynes 6th following a great dice with Dan Polley. Philip Lawless took 7th just ahead of top Fun Cup finisher Gary Corcoran then a recovering Tristan Quinn, Jason Roche, Stephen Maher and Mick Sammon next up. Unfortunatly both John Linnane and Mark Keenan both spun out earlier with no damage.

Our next outing is the non championship rounds at Bishopscourt NI on the weekend of May 11th and 12th.
